Musings with Mon & Yoga Happs
Hey Beautiful Women,
So, my yoga studio has finally opened. And now the website (and email!) is operating with a booking system and even a shop to enable you to have options for self-care rituals at home. Have you had a look yet? Have a sneaky peak when you can: www.mondwomen.com.au
What has been happening since I closed Little Things Yoga, you ask? Well, I had another bub, Artie Lou who is now 3yrs old, making our clan complete (and completely loud and crazy) and so much fun. My eldest two are both in school, so anticipating the opening of my yoga studio I decided after 2020 first lockdown to start studying a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy. The idea being that one day I could offer a more wholistic approach to healing and support for my clients. Of course we had another lockdown here in Sydney and instead of opening Mond Women in July 2021 it finally happened in April 2022. It's been a crazy ride, but the studio is beautiful and I love being able to offer this space to you all to move, reset, re-energise, stretch, strengthen, meditate, connect and breathe. Classes are limited because the space is my own, and I teach all of the classes in harmony with family and study.

Pose To Practice This Moon-th
Constructive Resting Pose. This is a beautifully accessible pose, and as the name suggests it is a place to rest. Just as in the picture below, come onto your back. From here it is as easy as it looks:
~Feet to the floor, with knees bent.
~Roll your shoulders open, hands/arms by your side, or hands to your womb.
~Option to bring movement here by rocking the pelvis back and forth.
~Try this rocking motion, without lifting anything, just simply 'rocking' as though
your pelvis is a bowl of water and you are shifting the contents forward and back.
Once you have done the above a few times you can either:
~Continue rocking and connect the movement with your breath.
~Use the rocking to find your neutral spine and stay here, mindfully breathing to find stillness and the ultimate aim of rest in this pose.
Finally, you may simply roll to one side and come to standing or you might like to have further movement and roll into some bridge poses/movement.

Self-Care
This month I'm suggesting to come for a Mond Women class as your self-care! So what classes are there? I'm happy you asked!
Femme AF Yoga ~ this is a fun-flow class, with strength challenging movement. It is sequenced to a fabulously femme artist, which has been Lana Del Rey and is soon to be changed to Billie Eilish. These classes run on early mornings to get the juices flowing. Wednesdays 6.30am & Saturdays 7am.
Mond Femme Flow ~ is a yoga class sequenced to the moon cycles. So if the moon is full, the class will be vinyasa. Dark or new moon is restorative with hot stones. Waxing moon is feminine flow vinyasa and waning moon is yin. Classes are Wednesday nights at 7.15pm.
Confidence Qween ~ is an early mark on Mondays at 6.30am, but a wonderful way to warm up to your week. This class is catered for all bodies, going through the basics of yoga poses ensuring correct alignment in all of them. This is challenging for everyone, as the most basic of poses can be changed and moved to bring more strength, stretch and alignment to your body.
Mamas & Bubbas ~ offers new mothers a space to have a cup of tea, be nurtured and regain connection with your postpartum body, as well as your baby through voice and massage. Classes run on Fridays at 9.30am.
Pre-Natal Yoga ~ is a really beautiful offering for pregnant women because the space is so small. Whether it is your first child or your fourth, your body is so different in every pregnancy and it is important that you can be cared for and supported each and every time. This ensures supporting you in your pregnancy, birthing and putting you in a position of strength and balance for your fourth trimester. Class runs Saturdays 9.30am.
And then there are private sessions, which if you are interested in, get in touch. There aren't times noted as available in the schedule, but we can work on a time that suits together.
Only private classes will run over the school holidays, so book in beforehand or I will see you on the other side for some yoga movement, stretches, heart opening, holds, mindful meditation and inner connection (sometimes with hot stones, depending on the class).

Fun Female Fact
In a study for women with endometriosis, the majority of patients found that yoga movement, along with connection to their bodies and breathing techniques allowed them to feel empowered over their pain. The main feedback was that the women in the study felt the yoga overall was 'beneficial to control pelvic pain' (A. Gonçalves, M. Makuch, et al. 2016. A Qualitative Study on the Practice of Yoga for Women with Pain-Associated Endometriosis).
It is so nice to be in touch! Going forward, this will be less of a studio promo and more of a women-community-feel-good, letting you know occasionally if there is anything special happening in the studio such as women circles, moon ritual nights, yin with pins and all the fun things that lie ahead. There will be a survey coming out soon, if you could please take the time to complete it, it is all confidential (because of how it is set up I couldn't see who completed it if I tried!), to help me make Mond Women the space that you want, and can come to.
Cannot wait to see you soon beautiful women, Love Monique Xx
